Orangutan population up but threats remain

In Somalia in the last estimation put the population in 14,600 the twice that in the last study. But the ecologists say, although that this number is big the poaching and loss of forest. Their forest habitat is fast disappearing and the investigators found orangutans in unexpected places, for example in higher altitudes in the mountains. Since 2004 the number of orangutan decline and this fact happens to the deforestation and poaching. The orangutans in Borneo and in Somalia are considerate two different species. 

In my opinion, this animal must be protected because the deforestation and the poaching reduce the number of these animals. And the animals didn’t live only in zoos and for this reason we must fight to preserve their natural habitat.
